Cegeka UK are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java development, Spring framework, relational databases, and a strong desire to grow their technical skills while contributing to Cegeka’ software solutions.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications using the Spring framework.
• Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
• Work with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) to design schemas, write queries, and optimise performance.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement new features and fix bugs.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of applications.
• Document technical designs, processes, and solutions.
• Stay up to date with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Solid programming skills in Java with exposure to object-oriented programming principles.
• Understanding of Spring / Spring Boot for application development.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases, writing queries, and working with relational data.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be eligible and willing to attain an SC level clearance
• Exposure to RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies such as Azure and AWS.
• Familiarity with Atlassian applications such as Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
